Saint Joseph, Foster Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ
Today, many countries throughout the world celebrate Father’s Day, and what better example of a loving and devoted father to emulate than Saint Joseph himself, and to whom the Church honors in a very special way for the year 2021.
Because of his deep faith, his profound humility and the true goodness of his heart, God chose him to not only be the most chaste spouse and protector of the Queen of Heaven and Earth, our Blessed Mother Mary, but also a loving and devoted foster father to the Eternal Word Incarnate, God’s Only-begotten Son, formed in the womb of our Blessed Mother through the power of the Holy Spirit.
As we honor all who are fathers today, I would like to offer to each of you a special Novena Prayer to Saint Joseph himself.

Daily Novena Prayer to St. Joseph
O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
O Saint Joseph, please assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, so that having experienced here below your Heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers.
O Saint Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Hold Him close in my name and kiss His fine head from me, and please ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, please pray for me. Amen. †
