Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion

“It was our pain that he bore, our sufferings he endured. We thought of him as stricken, struck down by God and afflicted, but he was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity. He bore the punishment that makes us whole, by his wounds we were healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)

It was through sin that our relationship with the Eternal Father was ruptured. It was through the suffering and the sacrifice of the unblemished Lamb that we have been reconciled and our relationship mended.

Jesus willingly accepted His suffering and the humiliating and agonizing death of the Cross, so that each of us might share in its ultimate glory – so that you and I might have life and have it to the fullest. This Friday is also the beginning of the nine-day Divine Mercy Novena which you will find in a separate posting each day. †
