For those who are celebrating a day of thanksgiving tomorrow, I offer you this prayer to be offered at your family dinner table.

Heavenly and Most Loving Father, on this day of celebration, we praise You and give You glory, as we offer You our heartfelt thanksgiving for all the wondrous gifts with which You have blessed our lives – the gift of life, the gift of our immortal soul, the gift of faith. From the depths of our hearts, we thank You for family and friends, and for the grace-filled love which fills our hearts.

Lord, we pray for all those who are suffering and alone in this world. We pray for all Your children who are struggling with grief and illness, especially during these difficult times in which we live today. We pray for all the poor, the homeless and those who feel unloved in our world.

We pray for all Your children, Lord, especially those who are the most vulnerable and have no voice and cannot defend themselves in the wombs of their mothers, and for all those who hunger and thirst for righteousness in their lives and for true justice in this world which we live.

Most Loving Father, we ask for Your blessings upon us this day, as we strive to know You more clearly, to love You more intimately, and to follow You more earnestly.

We ask for Your blessing upon the gifts which we are to receive this day from Your immeasurable bounty, which are a visible sign of Your goodness and unfathomable Love which You hold for each of us, Your children.

Father, we offer You this prayer and all that resides within the deepest recesses of our hearts out of love and faith in the Most Holy Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen. †
